Special POCSO Court Sentences Man to 5 Years Imprisonment for Molesting His Niece
Vijayawada: A special POCSO court has sentenced a man to five years’ imprisonment for molesting his 12-year-old niece, who had come to her grandmother’s house for the Dasara holidays in Mallikarjuna Pet, under I Town police station limits.
The girl’s father filed a complaint with I Town police on Jan 9, 2018, against his brother. The police booked the case and arrested the accused on April 10, 2018. The then I Town police investigated the case and filed the charge sheet. The court found the accused guilty of the crime.
The Posco court incharge judge, Justice Tirumala Venkateswarlu, while awarding the five-year-jail, also imposed on him a fine of Rs 15,000.
In another case, the second additional metropolitan magistrate court sentenced a 25-year-old man Singharathi Hebelu alias Patel to one-year imprisonment and fined him Rs 10,000 in a theft case filed at the Krishna Lanka police station on Dec 10, 2021.
