Vijayawada: Police in Guntur are investigating the brutal stabbing of a stray dog near Chillys restaurant on the Ring Road.
The incident occurred late on May 17. According to reports, a man working at the nearby Sitara chicken and mutton stall attacked the pregnant dog with a knife, inflicting fatal injuries.
A passerby, Sumanth, witnessed the attack and attempted to intervene but was unsuccessful.
Nallapadu circle inspector (CI) Naresh Kumar confirmed that a case has been registered, and officers are actively searching for the suspect.
The incident has sparked outrage among animal rights activists and local residents.
