Land acquisition notification issued in Amaravati

State to acquire 57.23 acres of land in Ananthavaram from 119 persons.

Guntur: Amaravati locals protested against the use of their lands for the capital during the WB team’s visit and the government issued LA notification on Tuesday.

The locals of Penumaka and Undavalli affirmed their decision of not pooling or offering their lands to APCRDA for new capital establishment with World Bank team meetings. Interestingly, the government is continuing efforts of collecting the lands of non-pooling farmers under Land Acquisition Act and issued LA notification to collect 53 acres of lands in Ananthavaram in Amara-vati Capital Region.

The WB team leaders I.V.P. Reddy and Sona Thakur said that they came to know about the wishes of locals and farmers about the construction of seven inner connectivity highways of Amaravati Capital Region. The locals of Penumaka and Undavalli led by Capital Farmers Association leader G. Naresh Reddy informed that their farmlands are unique multi-crop fertile lands which can be cultivated throughout the year.

They claimed that there is no need of collecting Penumaka and Undavalli lands as Amaravati would be constructed in Uddandarayunipalem, Lingyapalem and Raya-pudi and sought exemption of their two villages from land acquisition and land-pooling scheme. Similarly, pro-LPS farmers led by J. Sambasiva Rao asked the WB team to consider about their requirements and objections on which the WB team assured about revisiting Amaravati Capital Region after two days.

Meanwhile, Guntur district collector Kantilal Dande issued LA notification to acquire 57.23 acres of land in Ana-nthavaram from 119 persons and directed them to file objections.
