BRS introduced new schemes for upliftment of ST community: Minister
Hyderabad: Tribal welfare minister Satyavathi Rathod said that the BRS government had introduced a number of schemes for the uplift of the ST community and had provided 10 per cent reservations, and was now all set to provide pattas on podu lands.
The minister said that the government had increased reservations to help more ST community families get admission in schools and government jobs. Following the increase in reservations, ST students had got 3195 engineering seats, 189 medical seats and 903 posts additional allocated in TSPSC job notifications.
The government also sanctioned Rs 2,000 crore for constructing BT roads to tribal hamlets. The government also provided lands for STs and sanctioned '50 crore for constructing buildings in Banjara Hills in the name of Santh Sevalal Banjara Bhavan and Komaram Bheem Adivasi Bhavan.
