Bike mechanic Rajamohan quenches people's thirst in Guntur
GUNTUR: A young person J. Rajamohan of Guntur, working as a delivery boy in a gas agency, turned his motorcycle into a water kiosk and is offering cool mineral water free of cost by spending his own money. Rajamohan, a resident of Hanumaiah Nagar in Koretipadu of Guntur city, had three years ago observed the public facing severe trouble to quench their thirst on the streets .
He said, “I also used to ask for drinking water with the local residents while delivering refills. He stated, “Later, I decided to quench the thirst of the public with cool water and started distribution of drinking water three years ago and continuing the service. Mr Rajamohan said that he would park his bike fitted with cool mineral water thermal flask and the public would quench their thirst by drinking the cool water. He said that Guntur is famous for high day temperatures during summer season and this year it touched 48 degree Celsius increasing the thirst.
He said that elderly people and women would bless him after drinking the cool water which gives him utmost satisfaction. He added that besides drinking water, he offers food to orphans, elderly people and children on every Sunday through Swachh Hrudayam Charitable Trust. Mr Rajamohan said that he spends Rs 15,000 — Rs 20,000 per month with the help of his friends and family members for providing drinking water and food free of cost to the public.
