Hyderabad: Monsoon currents have once again weakened over Telangana state and coastal AP while remaining normal over Rayalseema. There are no indication of rainfall up to the first week of July, which is considered to be the peak monsoon month.
The weather model used by IMD has not spotted any possible depression which will strengthen the monsoon currents. An IMD official said there was no rain as there was no moisture in the atmosphere and prevailing dry hot winds from the northwest region were pushing up day temperatures.
On Sunday, the city can expect rain or thundershowers towards the evening or night, but it will be a warm day with day temperatures expected to be around 35ºC.
Hyderabad, Karimnagar, in deficit zone

Due to the weak monsoon current, TS has not been receiving rainfall and the surplus has dropped from 47 per cent at the beginning of last week to 25 per cent on Saturday.Districts like Hyderabad, Karimnagar, Malkajgiri, Rajanna Sircilla and Vikarabad are in the deficit zone. The normal average for the state for the month of June is 136.2 mm while it has received 170 mm thanks mainly to a weather system over the Bay of Bengal.
Coastal AP with nine districts has recorded an excess rainfall of 5 per cent with Prakasam and Srikakulam in the deficit zone. Rayalaseema is facing a 4 per cent deficit.
