BJP is murdering spirit of democracy: K Narayana
GUNTUR: CPI national secretary K. Narayana alleged that the NDA government was promoting land, financial and drug mafia in the name of Hinduism and saffronism. He said the BJP-led Central government was promoting Hindu fundamentalism and murdering the spirit of democracy and that Gujarat has become the headquarters for BJP-driven mafia.
The Long March by AISF-AIYF “Save India-Change India” reached Guntur on Monday evening. It passed through the city and a public meeting was held at Mahima Gardens. Addressing the meeting, Mr Narayana alleged that attacks by the saffron brigade have increased in UP, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, AP and other states with ‘gau rakshaks’ taking law and order into their hands.
He said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy Reddy have to oppose the growing saffronisation and lamented that the duo surrendered to the BJP government. He welcomed Jana Sena founder and actor-turned-politician meeting Mr Naidu and praised the former for his efforts in trying to alleviate the problems of Uddhanam kidney victims.
He declared that the CPI would not contest the Nandyal bypolls. AISF national secretary Viswajith Kumar asked the students and youth to work against the growing religious fundamentalism and fanaticism. He also urged them to oppose the dominance of BJP, RSS, Bajrang Dal and Sangh Parivar in secular institutions. Mr Viswajith Kumar wondered why the BJP was not working for one education system when it could strive for one tax system, GST.
AIYF national secretary Tirumalai lamented that 15 crore youth were unemployed but the BJP government was giving priority oto cows. AISF national president Valiullah Quadri said after completion of the Long March, they would start another movement seeking education, good health and employment to students and youth.
