Guntur: Counselling tests teachers' patience
GUNTUR: The ongoing counseling process for transfer of teachers is taking too much time in Guntur and teachers are seeking expediting the process to avoid waiting till midnight. The teachers are lamenting that they are coming to Pareeksha Bhavan at 6 am for counselling process but the frequent online internet problems and too much delaying for upload are troubling them to stay with their children.
Besides this, the education department is facing troubles to adjust the teachers to other schools from merged and closed schools. Teachers P. Venkates-wara Rao, G. Hari and others said the counselling was originally scheduled from July 27 to 31 but it began on July 29. They said that transferred teachers have to assume charge in the transferred school on August 1 but it seems not possible.
They lamented that teachers were coming to the venue Pareeksha Bhavan early in the morning but the counselling was starting only in the afternoon due to various reasons, including server problems. They said women teachers who were coming with their children were facing trouble and said there were no basic amenities at the counselling hall. Earlier, the department announced web-based counselling but later changed to manual choices which is also a cause of delay. The officials stated that the counselling would be completed on Monday and transfer orders would be issued enabling teachers to join in the transferred places from Tuesday.
