KOZHIKODE: All the deserving people will get the ration cards at the earliest, according to Excise and Labour Minister T.P. Ramakrishnan. He was addressing the district development committee meeting held at the collectorate in the presence of collector U.V. Jose, MLAs and officials on Friday. The people can also apply for the ration cards online, he said.
The meeting decided to kickstart the repair work of all the damaged roads from Monday. The revenue and the PWD officials said Rs 67 crore had been estimated for the repair of National Highway that has been damaged in the recent calamity. The tenders for the same will be called soon, the minister added.
The district administration asked the officials to restart the quarries that were closed due to the rain. The illegal quarries must produce the required documents to the departments concerned, said Mr Jose.
A protection fence will be built along the Thamarassery-Wayanad ghats owing to the danger posed by the section during the rain. MLAs V.K.C. Mammed Koya, Pradeep Kumar, M.K. Muneer, Purushan Kadalundi, K. Dasan and others from various Assembly constituencies were present at the meeting.
