Puducherry: Five persons, including a woman and a child, were killed on the spot and 36 others injured after two Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) buses collided at Mundiyampakkam in Villippuram district of Tamil Nadu.
According to the police, the incident happened when the bus from Kallakurichi to Chennai lost control as it tried to overtake another around 1.30 pm on Wednesday. The bus broke the centre median and entered the opposite side track and collided head-on with another government bus. The locals, police and administration rushed to the spot and began the rescue operation. The victims were taken to Mundiampakkam Government Medical College.
