A civil dispute regarding 90 cents land in Ajithsinghnagar is blowing into a new controversy against MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao.

Vijayawada: A civil dispute regarding 90 cents land in Ajithsinghnagar is blowing into a new controversy against MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao and his brother. Around 18 victims have started a protest in the city alleging that Chintapalli Sambasiva Rao, a local businessman, is trying to grab lands by threatening them with the help of legislator Bonda Uma and his brother Bonda Srinivas Rao.

Around 14 victims organised a protest at the site in Indira Naiknagar here on Wednesday and demanded the police to take action on Chintapalli Sambasiva Rao. J. Kumara Swami, one of the victims, said that he, along with 70 others, have purchased flats from Kesireddy Seetharamanjaneyulu in a 3.86 acres venture with urban land ceiling permission. All the flats were registered in 2001, he said.

Chintapalli Sambasiva Rao, who is the son-in-law of Seetharamayya, bought unregistered will which was drafted in 2011 allotting 90 cents in survey number 1A, he said. “Sambasiva Rao tried to occupy lands several times but we have approached cthe ourt and got status quo, he said. Kumara Swami said that Sambasiva Rao is trying to threaten them with the help of legislator Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, his brother Bonda Srinivas and his followers since 2015. He alleged that followers of the MLA had destructed the constructions on the site on February 24, 2017 but the police did not respond to their complaint.

“We got clearance from the district administration and MRO had shown boundaries of the site. We are worried as followers of MLA Bonda Uma are threatening us,” says Venkateswara Rao, another victim. Chintapalli Sambasiva Rao condemned the allegations and said that he has a will written by his uncle regarding the land.
