Norman Foster submits 4 design models to Chandrababu Naidu
Vijayawada: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the government structures and buildings will be iconic and unique and that all the structures should be build uniformly. The Chief Minister held a meeting with London-based architect firm Norman Foster and Partners. The firm submitted four design models of the government buildings to the Chief Minister at the Secreta-riat on Wednesday. Suggestions and inputs would be taken from the concept designs which were presented and a detailed action plan will be submitted later, said Mr Norman Foster. A construction plan will be submitted at a later stage, he added.
The Chief Minister said that the Assembly, court buildings and other structures which are to come up in the government block will be unique. Local architects’ help and advice should also be considered, besides taking advice from national and international experts, the Chief Minister said.
Amaravati will have the culture, tradition, history and the legacy of the Telugus, the CM said. “The committee set up for studying the culture and heritage aspect will provide necessary suggestion to you,” the CM told Mr Norman Foster. “People should own the capital city. Their active participation is very important for us. Bring all people together and take their interests and aspirations into consideration,”the CM said.
“To take people’s advice and suggestions, we will use the social media platform. A special web portal will be set up to take suggestions from all the Telugu people who are living abroad. Besides this, Facebook page, Twitter account, Instagram, YouTube account will be opened for their suggestions. The Chief Minis-ter has convened a meeting with all ministers, secretaries and heads of the departments to showcase the concept designs of Mr Norman Foster.
The Chief Minister keenly observed the four model designs of the government structures which would come up in 900 acres of land. Mr Norman foster and partners have submitted three designs to the Chief Minister on the occasion.
