Kupwara operation: Mysuru jawan battles for life

Ramesh's brother Vijaykumar told Deccan Chronicle that he had come home two months ago and had promised to return in August.

Mysuru: Terror can shatter dreams and a Mysuru-based family is slowly coming to terms with this painful reality. The dastardly attack by militants on an army camp in Kupwara in Kashmir last week, left soldier, B Ramesh, seriously injured after three bullets hit him but his family in the heritage city is hoping he will pull through and return home soon.

Ramesh's brother Vijaykumar told Deccan Chronicle that he had come home two months ago and had promised to return in August. His sudden injury has come as a shock to the soldier's parents and young wife, who are anxiously waiting for more news about him. Thirty six-year-old Ramesh from Bhadregowdana Koplu, Ilawa hobli, in Mysore taluk, is now being treated at a military hospital in Srinagar. The soldier is the father of an eight- year -old boy and a five -year -old girl. "We got to know about the incident last Thursday, but we are not sure how he is doing. We are anxious to meet him and the authorities have assured us that we will be able to see him once he is shifted to a hospital in Delhi," Vijaykumar said, adding that BJP MP from Mysuru, Pratap Simha had promised to make the necessary arrangements.
