Cyclone Fani, glitch divert 3 flights to Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Three flights made an emergency landing at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Wednesday, leading to tension among the passengers. Two flights were diverted to Hyderabad due to the Cyclone Fani, while one Indigo flight made an emergency landing due to unfavorable conditions at the Bengaluru airport.
An Indigo flight from Mumbai to Bengaluru carrying 155 passengers was diverted to Shamshabad due to the absence of the instrument landing system at the Bengaluru runway, the official statement said.
“The flight crew contacted Air traffic control at Shamshabad after noticing unfavorable conditions on the Bengaluru runway and requested permission for an emergency landing,” said an official. After getting clearance, the flight bound to Bengaluru from Mumbai made an emergency landing bringing much needed relief to passengers.
Secondly due to cyclone affected weather, a flight from Bengaluru to Kuala Lumpur was diverted to Shamshabad Airport.
However the diverted flight took off after spending hours at the Hyderabad airport following a clearance by the authorities.
