HYDERABAD: City police chief C.V. Anand on Monday held a high-level crime review with senior police officials, in which he discussed several administrative issues concerning city police.
They reviewed all crimes pending for want of arrests, detection of property offences which is at a record 85%, investigation of some sensational cases, FSL reports and charge sheets. The ACPs were asked to specifically focus on them.
Emphasizing the importance of crime detection, Anand stressed concerted efforts among clues and the investigative teams as it allows for a more comprehensive approach in tracing, analysing patterns and modus operandi of criminals, collecting evidence and database, which all can ensure detection, conviction and prevention.
They elaborated on resolving grievances pertaining to cybercrimes and narcotics, capacity building at police stations and quality investigations.
Reorganisation of the city police, accommodation for new police stations, ACP and DCPs, redistribution of men and vehicles besides expansion of the CCTV network also came up for discussion.
D-CAMO (drones & cameras maintenance organisation) is now operational. Leveraging IT and data analytics, the “fit cop” initiative, meant for monitoring and improving the health of police personnel, has progressed by leaps and bounds, and were also dwelt in deep. Training initiatives, and optimising human resources in the city armed reserve (CAR) were widely deliberated.
Additional commissioner (traffic) G. Sudhir Babu apprised about the status of cantonment roads, special drive against illegal sirens, procuring modern gadgets and summer measures for field-level personnel.
