41,000 SCCL Employees to Get Hiked Wages Today

Hyderabad: Around 41,000 employees of Singareni Collieries Company Limited will get hiked wages on Monday, after the company management decided to implement the 11th wage board with immediate effect, providing for a hike more than the previous 10 wage board recommendations, the company said in a release on Sunday.

Usually, SCCL follows Coal India Limited for wage revisions, but the 11th wage board was implemented much before CIL, officials said.

Director of finance and personnel N. Balram cited instructions from chairman and managing director N. Sridhar for making the arrangements on a war footing.

Balram said the new wages were implemented after discussions at the recently held Joint Bipartite Committee for Coal Industry (JBCCI)-XI. “As per the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA)-XI it was decided to implement the new wages from June 2023,” Balram said.

As per the agreement, the basic pay of daily rated category-1, which was ₹1,011.27 per day, was revised to ₹1,502.66, as per NCWA-XI recommendation. Similarly, the basic monthly rated grade-I, which was earlier ₹98,485.79, was revised to ₹1,46,340.67.

Following changes in the new basic salaries, the daily rated category employee will get ₹59,386.57 and the monthly rated underground A-1 worker would get basic revised from ₹1,46,341.67 to ₹2,16,618.74.

Balram said the wages will be implemented through the SAP payroll system.
