Hyderabad: Hundreds of motor vehicles parked on the roads and footpaths near Tarnaka and Mettuguda Metro stations obstructing vehicular and pedestrian movement is a common sight on every working day. Soon, this problem will be solved.
The South Central Railways (SCR), in collaboration with the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited, the traffic police and the GHMC, is planning to set up parking lots near Mettuguda, Tarnaka and Secunderabad East Metro stations. The SCR has identified vacant railway lands near these Metro stations for this purpose.
A railway official said, “We have identified vacant railway lands at Mettuguda, Tarnaka and Secunderabad East Metro stations for setting up parking lots. We will soon invite tenders for awarding the contracts. Considerable parking spaces near the three Metro stations have been earmarked in the tender and they will open on August 19, 2019.”
