A light rain and this road goes underwater
Bengaluru: Bosch Factory Road provides vital link for vehicles coming from Wilson Garden and Central Business District to touch Adugodi and Hosur Road. But for the past many months the road is in shambles. When it rains, the road turns into a stream.
“This is one of the crucial roads. I stay in Wilson Garden and I use the same road every day to reach Koramangala. But when it rains, the road gets waterlogged,” said Vijay Kumar, a regular commuter.
He said during rains the road goes nearly one feet under water, but no one has cared to set this problem right.
“Every rainy season the road gets flooded. What are officials and the political representatives doing? Are they not elected and appointed to solve the issues faced by people?” Vijay lamented.
Right the signal, there are numerous potholes and commuters have a tough time negotiating them. “White topping works are going on in the road. For many months half of the road is closed for white topping work and has not been completed,” said Prabhu, a commuter.
The road near the signal is so worn out that the gravel and the asphalt have come apart. When we ride our vehicles over it, sometimes, the bigger sized stones gets stuck between the wheel and the road and when we accelerate, the stone flies off, Prabhu observed.
Another issue which is affecting both the commuters and the residents is that after crossing the Bosch signal and heading towards the Adugodi signal, there is a garbage collection point. People complain that the garbage is strewn around and not collected properly.
“There is a government school right next to the garbage point. Many times, the garbage which gets spilled and almost covers one fourth of the road and motorists are forced to navigate through garbage,” said Sampoorna, a resident of Adugodi.
The commuters also want a traffic police to be posted at both the Bosch and Adugodi signals.
“People do not have any traffic sense. They come in the wrond direction on one-way road and threaten our lives. Only if they see a traffic cop, they follow the rules. But in their absence it is total chaos,” Naveen said.
He added that traffic cops have to slap hefty fines and seize the vehicles of repeated offenders.
