Dharwad: Dharwad district Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde, who is also the District Election Officer, made a special visit to the homes of centenarian voters and felicitated them on Sunday. This heartwarming gesture was in observance of International Day of Older Persons.
On Sunday morning, Deputy Commissioner Hegde accompanied by a team of officials met 103-year-old Rajabai Krishnarao Chikkeroora, a resident of Saptapur 8th Cross, and 101-year-old Shantabai Chhabbi of Kalyananagar.
In addition to heartfelt conversations about their well-being, the DC presented letters of appreciation, shawl, garland, and fruits.
The Deputy Commissioner who enquired about their well being praised them as exemplary figures for the younger generation of voters. He instructed officials to ensure they receive the necessary assistance and facilities.
Officials representing the District Administration visited the homes of senior citizens Kusuma Kirloskar in Sadhankeri, Ramaswamy K in Killa, P Girijabai Nargund, and Thangavva Karikatti in Saraswatpur to extend their honors and felicitations.
