Karnataka govt mulls policy to honour organ donors: Health minister Dinesh Gundu Rao

Mangaluru: In a significant move, Karnataka Health and Family Welfare Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has directed the officials to frame a policy that grants state recognition to organ donors.

He told this during an interaction with reporters at the Mangaluru Press Club on Wednesday. The minister emphasized the importance of acknowledging and honoring the noble act of organ donation and the families of organ donors.

He proposed that the government should appreciate them by means of giving certificates to the family, or other suitable gestures, however without involving any monetary incentives.
