Mekapati Goutham's bronze statue unveiled in Nellore
Tirupati: In a tribute to the late minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy, agriculture minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy unveiled his bronze statue at the Dycus Road Centre in Nellore on Friday. The event coincided with the 52nd birth anniversary of Goutham Reddy.
Presiding over the ceremony in the presence of legislators Anil Kumar Yadav, Mekapati Vikram Reddy, and former MP Rajamohan Reddy, Kakani highlighted the dedication of Goutham Reddy in the quick completion of the Sangam Barrage and various development projects in the Atmakur constituency.
He also noted that the departed leader promoted industries and the IT sector during his tenure.
“Goutham Reddy was a politician who conducted himself in a dignified manner, always focusing on his work without courting controversy. He never sought publicity but dedicated himself to the service of the people," Govardhan Reddy stated.
Vikram Reddy, brother of the departed leader, thanked the YSRC legislators and leaders for their support in erecting the bronze statue.
"My primary goal is to realize Goutham Reddy's vision. I initiated the Atmakur Development Forum to promote comprehensive growth in our constituency,” he said.
He added, “I am pleased to announce that Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has promised to establish ten industrial units in the Atmakur MSME park, which will significantly boost the economic development of this region."
To mark the birth anniversary, a job fair (job mela) was organised in Atmakur. MLA Vikram Reddy said, “We have previously organised two job fairs in the constituency, resulting in job placements for the local youth in private companies. These are facilitating skill training for unemployed youths to increase their employability. We shall organise another job fair in the constituency soon.”
