Aquino Squadron Triumphs in Inter-Squadron Drill Competition at Air Force Academy

Hyderabad: Aquino Squadron emerged victorious in the Inter-Squadron drill competition for the autumn term at the Air Force Academy (AFA) at Dundigal here on Saturday.

At a ceremony, AFA Commandant Air Marshal S. Shrinivas awarded Aquino Squadron the 'Commandant's Banner' for its outstanding overall performance in a spectrum of competitions, including sports, debate, quiz, cross country, drill, and academics. Its cadets earned the privilege of adorning a distinctive lanyard on their right shoulders for the upcoming semester.

Air Marshal Shrinivas bestowed honours upon the top performers and handed over the prestigious 'Commandant's Banner' to Flight Cadet Prachi Sharma, the squadron cadet adjutant (SCA) of Aquino Squadron.

Addressing the ceremony, Air Marshal Shrinivas spoke about the vital role of physical fitness and mental toughness in the life of military personnel. He emphasised the significance of building endurance and toughness, calling them as indispensable qualities for a formidable fighting force.

Air Marshal Shrinivas also appreciated the team of instructors for their unwavering commitment to transforming young trainees into skilled air warriors, attaining the elevated standards demanded of officers in the IAF.

At the ceremony, the Flight Cadets, displaying precision and discipline, presented a captivating march past to the martial tunes played by the Indian Air Force (IAF) Band.
