Arrangements in place for counting in Warangal, Karimnagar

Karimnagar: The district authorities have made elaborate arrangements for the conducting of votes in a peaceful atmosphere in the erstwhile Warangal and Karimnagar districts.

The counting for the five Assembly constituencies -- Warangal East, Warangal West, Narsampet, Parkala and Wardhannapet -- will be held at Enumamula Agriculture Market in Warangal and for the four constituencies -- Karimnagar, Manakondur, Huzurabad and Choppadandi -- will be held at SRR Degree and PG College in Karimnagar city, where the EVMs and VVPATs were kept in strongrooms under round-the-clock foolproof security under the supervision of collectors Praveenya and Pamela Sathpathi of the two districts.

Warangal police commissioner Ambar Kishore Jha and Abhishek Mohanty of Karimnagar stated that three-layer security arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of the counting process.

The counting process will begin with postal ballets at 8 am on Sunday and there will be 14 counting tables for each constituency and one for postal ballots.

Each table will have a supervisor, counting assistant, micro-observer apart from three reserve teams and postal ballot teams for each constituency.

For each two counting tables, one hamali workers with a dress code will be deployed to bring the EVMs and VVPATs from the strongroom to the counting centre.

After the completion of the counting of votes in EVMs, the counting of VVPATs will be held following the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India. Mobile phones or any other electronic devices will not be permitted inside the counting centre.
