Karnataka: DK Attends 3,431 Grievances Under 'Government At Your Doorstep' Initiative

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru city incharge D.K. Shivakumar on Wednesday embarked on ‘Government At Your Doorstep Your Cooperation For Our Step’ to lend an ear to the public grievances and he received as many as 3,431 applications from the residents of Krishnaraja Pura and Mahadevapura Assembly seats of Bengaluru city.

After the public redressal meeting covering two Assembly seats of KR Pura and Mahadevapura, Shivakumar said a team of officials concerned would be formed to look into the grievances of the residents and the team would forward a particular complaint from the residents to the officials concerned for instance if the complaint if for the police department and then it will be forwarded to the police and likewise.

At the meeting, he said that he received complaints from the residents over no getting benefits of the guarantee schemes such as Rs 2,000 cash benefit scheme for women and stated that officials concerned will look into it. He, however, said no time frame has been set to redress and will be dealt on a priority basis such as drinking water, roads among others.

The DyCM said “Endorsement will be given to the residents for their grievances and a team will follow-it up.” If any discrepancies are found in the conduct of the meeting, he said to set things right by initiating suitable measures in next meetings for smooth and hassle-free conduct of the meetings with the people.

All applications received at the meeting will be dealt with in the best possible way and in legal framework, he said and such meetings with the residents will be held in this month covering a couple of Assembly seats of Bengaluru city.

Asked about corruption in Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits, Shivakumar said officials concerned will look into the complaint and if found guilty suitable action will be initiated and none would be spared.
