Chandrababu Naidu to finalise designs for capital on February 22
Vijayawada: The final designs of Amaravati administrative city will be finalised on February 22. Master architects of London — Norman Foster informed Chief Minister that they would submit the final designs on 22.
The Chief Minister conducted a review meeting on Amaravati development from secretariat and interacted with master architects Norman Fosters here. The CM said that Amaravati should reflect the cultural glory of India and particularly in AP.
Mr Naidu has entrusted the responsibility to Dr Parakala Prabhakar (adviser, communications) to bring all people concerned together in shaping Amaravati as a world class capital city.
During the video conference, the Chief Minister said that the designs should be innovative and buildings should be world class. He called for effective coordination from project consultants and officials.
The officials briefed the Chief Minister on the vision laid out for Amaravati, the progress it has made after 24 months and targets set for the coming 12 months and for the year 2018.
In addition to the above, the officials said that a convention centre will be build to accommodate ten thousand people. Plot allotment to farmers will be completed this year they added. They said a MoU would be entered with NHAI on February 28 for the construction of outer ring road.
The Chief Minister made it clear a sports city should be developed in Amaravati by 2019 to organise national games. The officials said that an international organisation came forward to set up Sports management school. The said plans were formulated to develop silparamam, museum and library in capital city.
