Top babu stays put' in Telangana, wing suffers
Vijayawada: The shifting of the AP Construction and Other Workers’ Welfare Board (APCOWWB) to Vijayawada from Hyderabad has not taken place though the Secretariat was shifted to Velagapudi, and the works related to the APCOWWB have been stalled in AP for over a year.
Minutes of the state advisory committee on allocation of state cadre employees to the Telugu states indicated that supernumerary post will be created by Andhra Pradesh to accommodate additional commissioner (Labour) cadre officer P.V. Muralisagar long ago.
Interestingly, it took one year and two months for the committee to adjudicate as to where the services of the said officer are to be utilised. Following delay in taking this decision, the shifting the APCOWWB to Vijayawada from Hyderabad has been affected. Muralisagar has been working as secretary of APCOWWOB, which has its base in Hyderabad.
On March 6, the AP government placed its request before the 16th meeting of the advisory committee to allot Muralisagar to the GoAP. However, no decision was taken and even subsequent meetings of advisory committee held on May 7, June 4, July 1, and August 8 failed to take a call on it.
Following his proximity with one of the senior members of the advisory committee, Muralisagar was able to prolong his ‘stay’ in Hyderabad, resulting in which the shifting of APCOWWB could not take place till now.
However, the 21st meeting of the advisory committee that took place on August 29, in the presence of AP Chief Secretary S.P. Tucker, stated that the minutes of the earlier meeting were confirmed regarding the Murali-sagar’s issue.
