Mysuru: Sumalatha discusses LS polls with Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra swamiji
Mysuru: Mrs Sumalatha Ambareesh met Suttur Math seer Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra swamiji at Suttur, sought his blessings, discussed about her plans to contest from Mandya Lok Sabha constituency, and about her son Abhishek's debut movie Amar on Saturday.
She said: “I’ve sought his blessings. I’m touring Mandya to elicit public opinion about contesting Lok Sabha polls. So far, none from JD(S) has discussed anything on the party ticket for Mandya Lok Sabha seat."
Producer Rockline Venkatesh and actor Doddanna accompanied Mrs Sumalatha during her visit to the Math. Rockline Venkatesh said: “Ambareesh had become more like my father." In an oblique reference to CM H.D. Kumarswamy on his statement about the late actor on Wednesday, he said "People who respected Ambareesh when he was alive are now talking a different tongue. People will respond appropriately. When a man is not alive, no one should talk ill of him. She is contesting elections to respond to the feelings of people of Mandya and to repay their debt.”
