48 year old Revanna has come up with this special four feet tall fibre Ganapathi statue in 30 days’ time, in order to express solidaridity with people across the globe and Corona warriors, to create awareness on Corona virus and also mainly to pray lord Ganapathi to eliminate Corona virus, and for the good health and wellbeing of the mankind.
While he had orders of craft work outdoor at certain temples, due to lockdown he could not go out. Also though he had orders of some statues, he could not do them even at home since all the shops were closed and he did not have adequate materials at home. So utilizing the time he had during the lockdown period, and using the limited materials available with him, he has come up with this special Ganapathi statue, to mark this current global Covid situation.
“I prepared it at my secret room, where I work on my statues keeping it secret from even my own family members. Once the statue was prepared I surprised my family members by showing them. Later, all my family members including my wife Bharathi, and mother Ningamma, children Padmasri and Reshmasri helped me with painting the statue,” he said.
Revanna is known for coming up with atleast 500 eco friendly Ganesha statues from 5 inch to 5 feet height using clay and natural colours during Ganesh Chathurthi which can easily melt in water, without causing any arm to the water body. He has been coming up with concept based Ganesha statues based on current developments atleast since past 20 years during Ganesh Chathurthi. And Revanna came to light with his Ganesha statue depicting the kidnap of sandalwood matinee idol Dr Rajkumar by Veerappan over 20 years ago. And last year too during Ganesh Chathurthi, he had come up with PM Narendra Modi meditating over lotus in the hands on the lap of lord Shiva and also statues of Amit Shah, B S Yeddyurappa with lord Ganapathi to mark BJP governments again at Centre and State. But each time, he comes up with such unique statues, he gives them away to households who have the tradition of hosting dolls show during Dasara. But he also comes up with fibre statues for temples. But now for the first time he has come up with this concept based Ganapathi using liquid fibre to ensure it lasts for ever to mark this current Covid situation, and it is also as first step to start a museum of such unique Ganapathis.
