Telangana development model resonating across India: KCR

CM announces slew of 'decennial celebration' gifts

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao said that Telangana state had ushered a golden age for welfare and development within nine years of its formation, with its slogan 'create wealth and distribute to people'.

Launching the 21-day decennial celebration of TS formation at the Secretariat here on Friday, Rao said that Telangana's welfare schemes and development programmes not only stood as a role model for other states, but also that the people of other states are wishing for such schemes. Today "Telangana development model' is resonating everywhere in the country, he said.

In his one-and-a-half-hour address on the occasion, Rao announced 'decennial celebration gifts' to various sections which include the implementation of Rs. 1 lakh financial aid to each Backward Classes household dependent on traditional occupations, second phase of sheep distribution and distribution of podu land pattas for tribals, distribution of house sites to poor, extension of KCR nutrition kits to 24 districts, Rs. 3 lakh financial assistance each to the poor for constructing houses on their plots under Gruha Laxmi and the second phase Dalit Bandhu schemes.

"I made a promise as Chief Minister in the first state formation meeting held at Parade Ground on June 2, 2014. On that day, I assured the people that I would shape Telangana in such a way that the nation would learn from the state of Telangana and that it would be a benchmark for India. Within a span of nine years, Telangana has become an inspiring state in many fields," Rao stated.

“If we compare the conditions of those days with the conditions of today, the astonishing achievements we have achieved move before our eyes,” he noted.
Of the last nine years, almost three years were wasted due to Covid. And in the remaining short period of six years, the state climbed peaks of progress at jet-speed, Rao said.

"Now this is modern Telangana. Our Telangana model is heard everywhere in the country. The development model of Telangana is being appreciated at the national and international level.

Telangana schemes are not only viable as an ideal for other states, but the people of those states also want Telangana-style development for themselves. We feel very proud and happy when CMs and their officials, who have visited our state, are impressed by our schemes and announce that they will implement them back home. Once Telangana was known for struggles and agitation but is today hailed as a glorious Telangana," Rao said.

The government is working hard to restore Telangana's historical heritage and spiritual elevation to its former glory. The reconstruction of the Yadagiri temple, a symbol of Telangana's spiritual glory, is hailed as a miracle by all, he added.

"Every devotee of Sanatana Dharma wishes to visit Kashi Kshetra at least once in his lifetime. For the convenience of devotees going to Kashi from Telangana, a 60,000 sq.ft building will be built there. Similarly, we are constructing another accommodation for Telangana devotees visiting Sabarimala. I have personally spoken to the Chief Minister of Kerala in this regard," Rao said.

The Telangana government was constantly working to spread the spirit of Telangana throughout the country, he said.
