Man from Hyderabad tried to go to Syria, reveals NIA official
Hyderabad: Interrogation of the five arrested terror suspects here on Saturday by NIA officials revealed that one of them had made an attempt to cross over to Syria via a neighbouring country.
The five suspects also undertook a “joint pledge” swearing allegiance to the ISIS and its commander Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, and communicated their pledge to him. NIA officials said the five men were scouting for hideouts in Hyderabad to assemble bombs and to hide themselves after unleashing violence in the city.
An official said these conspirators against the nation had divided their assignments among themselves for carrying out attacks and for finding hideouts.
“They took a joint pledge swearing their allegiance to the ISIS and its commander. One of them stated that the pledge had been conveyed to Baghdadi. They had visited places outside Hyderabad for procurement of explosives and firearms. There were money transactions from the Middle East to them through the hawala route, as also through regular money transfer channels. The sources of these transactions are highly suspicious and are now under investigation.”
“Two arrested persons — Ibrahim and Iliyas — are brothers. Habeeb and Fahad are related by matrimony,” the NIA officials said.
