KANNUR: The investigation team will soon take into custody the vehicle of A.N. Shamseer, MLA, in connection with the attempt to murder CPM rebel C.O.T. Nazeer. The victim has been alleging that the conspiracy to attack him was held in the Innova car owned by Mr Shamseer. Though Mr Shamseer is using the vehicle the registration is in a relative's name, it was pointed out. There are evidences about the presence of CPM Pulyod branch secretary N.K. Ragesh and the gangster Pottiyan Santhosh in the vehicle on the day the conspiracy was held, but the investigation team is yet to receive any evidence on the presence of Mr Shamseer in the vehicle.
Nazeer was attacked on May 18 at Kayyath Road in Thalassery. Three culprits who came in a bike hacked him on his hands, head and stomach when he was riding on a scooter. A popular CPM leader in Thalassery, Nazeer was also a member of Thalassery municipality. Later he distanced from the CPM and contested against CPM leader P Jayarajan in the Vadakara Lok Sabha constituency as an independent candidate.
