Speculation over Mamata's invite to K Chandrasekhar Rao for Delhi rally
HYDERABAD: The question that tops in political circles interestingly now is whether West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is really active in formation of Federal Front, will invite Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for the proposed Federal Front rally to be held in Kolkata in January against NDA government or not. Ms Banerjee has already extended an invitation to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, through TD MPs, when she met them the other day. Telangana CM KCR and Ms Banerjee had earlier held discussions on the formation of a Federal Front.
After the meeting some regional party leaders on the formation of Federal front, KCR has gone silent, but Ms Banerjee has been moving very fast on the formation of Federal Front and has been inviting leaders to Kolkata to participate in a meeting scheduled in January 2019, to mark the formation of Federal Front.
CM KCR had proposed Federal Front against the BJP and the Congress, but there are speculations that KCR is moving closely with Prime Minister Narendra Modi now.
In just 10 days notice, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is said to have given an appointment to KCR and his son IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao, strengthening speculation that KCR is not in a mood to go against the Prime Minister. Moreover, recently TRS had abstained themselves during the No Trust vote against NDA government led by the BJP, bringing down the Opposition number.
Against this background, it is not yet clear whether West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will invite Mr Rao to the proposed Federal Front rally to be held at Kolkata in January next year.
Mamata Banerjee recently said that all leaders of the potential Federal Front will come to Kolkata on January 19, 2019. After the recent political developments, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is moving towards Mamata Banerjee and showing interest in Federal Front. Naidu did not hesitate to share dais with Congress leaders.
Mamata Banerjee also reportedly invited UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and AICC president Rahul Gandhi to the Federal Front rally. CM KCR is not interested in sharing dais with Congress leaders and due to this only, he avoided participating in the swearing in ceremony of Karnataka Chief Minister H.D. Kumara Swamy recently. “For TRS in Telangana, the main political enemy is Congress. If CM KCR shares dais with Congress leaders, it may give wrong signals to the public,” a senior TRS leader opined.
