Mild Tremor Rattles Delhi

Intense seismic activity rattled the city of Delhi today, stemming from two earthquakes originating in Nepal. The first earthquake, registering a magnitude of 4.6, struck Nepal at 2:25 pm local time, followed closely by a more powerful tremor measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale at 2:51 pm.

According to the National Centre for Seismology, "Earthquake of Magnitude: 6.2, Occurred on 03-10-2023, 14:51:04 IST, Lat: 29.39 & Long: 81.23, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Nepal," as stated in their official release.

The impact of these seismic events extended beyond Nepal's borders, with tremors being distinctly felt in Delhi and surrounding areas of the National Capital Region (NCR). Reports also confirmed the occurrence of tremors in locations further afield, including Lucknow, Hapur, and Amroha in the neighboring state of Uttar Pradesh.

As news of the tremors spread, social media platforms quickly became inundated with videos depicting individuals evacuating buildings in response to the unsettling quakes.
