Parliamentary Public accounts committee visits Karwar Naval Base

Karwar: A seven-member delegation from the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), led by chairman Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, visited Karwar Naval Base on October 2.

The Chairman and members of PAC offered floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti at INS Kadamba.

The delegation proceeded to the aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya, where they watched a demonstration of helicopter landing operations on the carrier's flight deck.

The team also explored INS Vela, the fourth in the series of indigenously built Kalvari class submarines. Officials provided a detailed overview of the operational proficiency of INS Vikramaditya and INS Vela.

The team was given a guided tour of the harbour and its facilities including the ongoing 'Project Sea Bird.'

During the visit, the delegation was provided with details of of the Navy's capabilities and preparedness at sea.
