THANJAVUR: A beach occurred at Kannanar-Thambikottai head at Kadanthankudi division in Pattukottai taluk due to heavy rains on Monday.
Mr. M. Govinda Rao, Thanjavur district collector, who inspected the site on Monday morning asked PWD engineers and revenue officials to plug the breach and stop wastage of water. C.V. Sekar, Pattukottai MLA, Claston Purshparaj, sub-collector, Pattukottai were present on the occasion.
Meanwhile Thanjavur district continued to experience intermittent showers on Monday.
