CM Jagan dedicatedly working for differently abled, says MLA

Vijayawada: State Planning Board Chairman and Vijayawada Central MLA Malladi Vishnu has said Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has been working a lot for the development and welfare of the Differently Abled people in the state.

“To provide social security, the YSRC government is implementing many schemes for them,” he said.

NTR and Krishna districts’ differently abled, and senior citizens welfare departments organised the Disabled People’s Day celebrations at the Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada on Sunday.

Vishnu said the state government is handing over Rs 3,000 to Rs 10,000 as pensions to the differently-abled, disabled people and senior citizens under the social security welfare scheme. “No other state has implemented this type of a comprehensive scheme.”

He said around 5 per cent of the seats are being allotted to differently-abled children in higher education courses. MLA Vishnu explained that the YSRC government issued the orders and 4 per cent reservations are being provided in job recruitments for them.

NTR district collector Dilli Rao explained the financial assistance and implemented the welfare schemes to the differently-able people in the combined Krishna district. He praised the services of several voluntary organisations that extend support and financial assistance to differently-abled people.

Sai Prem, Cheyutha, Sirisha Rehabilitation Centre and the Vijaya Mary organisation children performed cultural activities and guests distributed tri-cycles to the beneficiaries.

The AP Differently Abled People and senior citizens welfare department director B Ravi Prakash, corporation MD MK Kumar Raja, district officer B Kiran Raju and others were present.
