Ongole: AP SPDCL Chairman and Managing Director H.Y. Dora on Wednesday made it clear that there would be no power cuts this summer and added that th-ey will give uninterrupted power to the consumers.
He reiterated that last summer too, they had given continuous power supply. He addressed a meeting held in the SPDCL office in Ongole city on Wednesday.
He further said that they are giving seven hours continuous power supply to agriculture pumpsets since January 25 and reminded that earlier they had given seven hours power supply twice, and with the improvement of power supply, they have started continuous seven hours power supply.
To provide better service to the consumers, the SPDCL has introduced an App, which consumers can download from Google.
They should register their service number and details to pay the bill with their mobile, he said. At the present, the consum-ers are paying 'five per bill for service charge in the E-seva centre. If the consumers pay their po-wer bill through their mobile, they need not go to E-seva centre and was-te their time besides saving five rupees, he added and urged the consumers to avail the facility provided by the SPDCL.
The SPDCL chairman said that they have allotted 10 million units to Prakasam district. The district average consumption is drawing 9.1 million units and they are giving free service connections to the BPL families.
He said that the government has sanctioned 60,266 free service connections to Prakasam district. The consumers of BPL families would have to pay '100 for power connection and '20 for application and urged the consumers to avail the facility provided by the SPDCL.
