Visakhapatnam: Land pooling mired in another controversy
Visakhapatnam: Controversies refuse to die down around the proposed land pooling scheme of Vuda. While some realtors are said to have already paid advances to the farmers holding assigned lands which mean developed plot which runs into some crores of rupees will go into the hands of realtors, now it is revealed that lands for which objections were raised earlier on the ownership rights have also found place in the land pooling scheme.
Land in certain survey numbers in Kommadi were notified as government lands under section 22A when N. Yuvaraj was the district collector. Objections if any for notifying those survey numbers as government land were also called on January 29, 2016, in a gazette notification. Those claiming the rights who were given pattas by Vizianagaram royals in an extent of 900 acres in and around Kommadi had registered their objections. A High Court order by justice C.V. Nagarjuna Reddy earlier also favoured the patta holders and asked the government to register the land in the name of patta holders.
The issue is now with chief commissioner of Land Acquisition (CCLA). Meanwhile, land in two survey numbers for which objections were raised by the patta holders were found in the list of land that will be pooled. The land details that will be pooled were given in GO MS No. 304. The GO was issued by municipal administration and urban development authority on Nov. 25, 2016. In Kommadi, among many other survey numbers, 28/2 and 39/2 were also identified to be pooled. In Kommadi in total 116.64acres were proposed to be pooled. Of the 116.4 acres, 28 acres were identified as government, 48.84 as assigned and 39.80 as zeroyithi land. “ A joint collector report earlier also said there are no subdivisions in both the survey numbers,” said M Ramakrishna, who raised the issue.
