Hyderabad: Two and more election photo identification card (EPIC) numbers have been issued for some voters. This includes none other than the Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Gopalkrishna Diwedi, who has three EPIC cards, as also the daughters of YSR Congress president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Varsha and Harshini. Some voters are shown to have six different house numbers.
According to the Andhra Pradesh voter helpline website, Gopal Krishna Dwivedi, who happens to be the Chief Election Officer of Andhra Pradesh and votes from Mangala-giri constituency in Guntur district, has three EPIC numbers issued in his name — NYT2025393, NYT2025435 and NYT2029387.
Harshini Reddy Y.S., daughter of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, a voter in Pulivendula constituency, Kadapa, has been issued two EPIC numbers — AJL1092584 and AJL103196.
In Pulivendula Assembly constituency, known to be the bastion of the YSRC president, there are at least a dozen people who have been issued two or three EPIC numbers. For instance, voters Varshini Sirigireddy, Amrutha Varshini Yeddula, Rami Reddy Mittapalli, Hiten-dra Kasunuru, Mahaboob bi Kasunooru all have two EPICs issued against their name.
Duplicate voters have surfaced too in the electoral list. For example, the name of Maha Lakshmi Chandana, house number 41-8-3-11, Vijayawada east, EPIC-AGZ3358793 appears eight times on the list with different serial numbers.
Mr Dwivedi was unavailable for comment on these discrepancies in the EPICs. His office says voters should file a request to remove the duplicate cards.

The names of 19.64 lakh voters across 31 districts of the state, especially of fathers and husbands, were misused to create duplicate/ fake voters’ list. Also, the names of 3.48 lakh genuine voters were interchanged: Priyanka Mula becomes Mula Priyanka to create the fake ID.
