Anantapur: Anantapur range DIG M. Raviprakash on Tuesday sidelined Chilamathur sub-inspector Rangadu Yadav into vacancy reserve for thrashing at his police station a man who had come to lodge a complaint against a YSRC leader a couple of days ago.
Videos of the SI hitting the person had gone viral on social media. Further, local police went on to release other videos justifying their act, with versions of victim Venu and his wife supporting police for beating the complainant. In the video, the wife also sought counselling for her husband for neglecting his family.
Circulation of these videos led to a controversy and TD general secretary Nara Lokesh demanded action against police and the YSRC leader.
