Film crew bends rules to shoot in Cubbon Park
Bengaluru: It appears that the Karnataka government has broken its own law banning film shootings in public parks.
The Cubbon Park Walkers Association (CPWA) recently spotted a private agency filming a video in the city’s prominent lung space, to highlight the achievements of Siddaramaiah government.
CPWA president, Umesh Kumar, claimed that no permission was sought from the horticulture department and moreover the high court has disallowed videography in Cubbon Park and Lalbagh. According to CPWA, the film crew carried out the shooting on Thursday.
When Deccan Chronicle contacted Mahantesh Murgod, Deputy Director of Cubbon Park Horticulture Department, he said, “Private film shooting and videography of any kind is generally not allowed. This group had approached us 6 to 7 months ago to shoot the nature, heritage of Cubbon. Since it was a state government order, we let them do it.”
