Anjuman-e-Mutawallian Urges KCR for ₹100 Crore Allocation for Ashoorkhana Renovation
Hyderabad: The Anjuman-e-Mutawallian, an organisation of incharges of ashoorkhanas, asked Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to allocate ₹100 crore for the renovation of ashoorkhana and to observe Moharram — known locally as Peerula azadari — as a government programme, similar to Bonalu and Bathukamma.
The organisation met on Sunday to discuss arrangements for Moharram, the month of mourning, which begins on June 13.
Mir Abbas Ali Moosvi, president, Anjuman-e-Mutawallian, Telangana state, said the ₹100 crore was needed to carry out repairs and renovation of Ashoorkhanas and for the arrangement of Moharram commemoration in the districts.
