Hyderabad: Minister for animal husbandry T. Srinivas Yadav on Wednesday instructed the officials to complete the preparation for Secunderabad Sri Ujjaynai Mahankali Bonalu before July 15; the event will be celebrated on July 21 and 22.
Mr T. Srinivas on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements for the festivals with officials of various departments.
He said the Telangana state government celebrates Bonalu as a state festival; the festival is also celebrated in other parts of the country as well as in foreign lands.
He instructed the officials to ensure foolproof arrangements and said that there should not be any shortage of facilities for the people who come from different places to participate in the festival. He also hoped that this time the number of people participating in the Jathra would enhance.
He instructed the officials of the electricity department to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply by installing additional transformers and generators during the festival.
RDO Secunderabad was instructed to provide facilities to VIPs in accordance with their protocol. Hyderabad Metro Water Supply and Sewerage Board has to provide 5 lakh water packets. Mr Srinavas has also asked the police officials to ensure smooth flow of traffic by managing the traffic in the areas and to provide heavy bandobast and monitor the movement with CC TV cameras. Additionally, he instructed the road transport officials to ply extra buses from different parts of the city.
GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore informed the minister that the staff will work in three shifts to maintain cleanliness and hygiene. GHMC will establish a control room and the contact numbers of the concerned officials will be provided to the public.
