Police Academy, Bavarian police hold training session

KPA will hold more such workshops in collaboration with Bavarian State Police and Hanns Seidel Foundation.

Mysuru: The Karnataka Police Academy, Mysuru in association with the Bavarian State Police from Germany conducted a unique five-day workshop at KPA on "Incorporating Practice-oriented and Modular Police training" which concluded on Friday. It was supported by Hanns Seidel Foundation of Germany

The workshop was conducted for 45 officers from the rank of police inspector to superintendent of police working at various training Institutes and trainers of Karnataka Police Academy. The sessions were delivered by Senior Police Director Hubert Muller and Deputy Superintendent of Police Andreas Dietl from Bavarian State Police. Mr Volker Lennart Plan and Ritu Priya, representatives of Hanns Seidel Foundation of Germany, too participated.

The workshop focused on the need for innovative training methodologies and scenario-based practical training for probationary police officers at the training level in handling different situations. Scenario-based practical situations were conducted and enacted by participants.

KPA will hold more such workshops in collaboration with Bavarian State Police and Hanns Seidel Foundation.

KPA Director Vipul Kumar had launched the workshop on July 30, while DGP, Training, Padam Kumar Garg, participated in the valedictory session.

KPA, under the leadership of Director and IGP Vipul Kumar, has come up with several such initiatives. Recently, the Crime and Criminal Tracking Networking System training centre was launched at KPA. The entire campus has e-connectivity. They have plans to come up with distance learning programmes for officers, through an advanced website for the benefit of police officers to take up courses and upgrade themselves.
