Rain likely over Andhra Pradesh

VISAKHAPATNAM: A cyclonic circulation is developing along the coast of south Andhra Pradesh and north Tamil Nadu in southwest Bay of Bengal with the trough extending up to the Comorin region.

Under its influence, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely at isolated places over north coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, and south coastal Andhra Pradesh and Rayalaseema, said a private website Skymet on Saturday.

Heavy rains could last till September 6 in these areas, as lower tropospheric south easterly / southerly winds are prevailing over AP and Yanam.

Meanwhile, temperature increased in many parts of the state. Visakhapatnam recorded a temperature of 34.6 degrees Celsius, which is four degrees above the normal maximum temperature.
