VELLORE: A doctor at the CMC here was killed and a nurse sustained injuries when the bike in which they were riding hit a median near Ambur in Vellore district on Thursday.
According to police, Dr. Benedict Prabhu of Nagercoil, working in the neurology department in CMC, Vellore, was proceeding to Ambur, along with Julia, a nurse, on his bike from the medical institution.
When he neared Ambur, Prabhu inadvertently hit a median and lost control of his vehicle. Both were flung off from the bike. While Prabhu was declared brought dead at the Ambur GH, Julia who was initially treated for injuries at Ambur was later referred to the Vellore hospital.
