Asaduddin Owaisi okays privatisation but says keep the letter ‘Z’
Hyderabad: MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi, reacting to the strike of RTC employees, asked them to accept the offer given by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
Speaking at a public meeting, he said, “I am with you. I understand your pain. I appeal to you to accept the offer forwarded by the Chief Minister. Poverty is high. It is unfortunate that a few employees committed suicide during the strike.”
He appealed to the employees to consider the offer and overcome the conspiracy of the BJP and Congress.
He appealed the Chief Minister to continue the letter ‘Z’ on the number plates of buses as it was inducted in the memory of Mir Osman Ali Khan’s mother Zehra Begum.
“You are going to privatise the RTC, but we demand and request you not to remove the letter ‘Z’ from the number plates of RTC buses as it is part of the history of Hyderabad,” he said.
Regarding the plastics ban, he said owners of plastics factories had asked him to intervene. They told him they are paying `650 crore as GST, and that the use of plastic bags of 51 microns was permissible till 2022, but the government has banned it.
He said he had interacted with TRS MP J. Santosh Kumar who had told him that the Chief Minister has said he will reconsider the issue.
