Hyderabad: The number of farmer suicides has come down from 352 in 2021 to 178 in 2022 in Telangana, according to a National Crime Records Bureau report issued on Sunday.
The victims include five women farmers. Though there was a decline in numbers, Telangana still stood at the fourth position in this category, behind Maharashtra (2,448), Karnataka (985) and Andhra Pradesh (309), according to Accidental Deaths and Suicides in India 2022 report. All these farmers cultivate their own land.
