A green signal to Kerala Congress(M)
KOTTAYAM: The message of the four-day district conference of the CPM at Kottayam is a green signal for a Kerala Congress (M) tactical tie-up with the LDF.
The working report of the party presented at the district conference maintains that the support offered to the KC(M) in the Kottayam district panchayat election is a model which can be emulated by the party in other places too.
Going by the discussions among delegates, the conference also signals that the LDF could get electoral advantage in the district through an alliance with the KC(M).
Moreover, they perceive they could contain the aggressive postures of the CPI within the front by an alliance with the KC(M). CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, in his reply,criticized CPI by maintaining that the CPI is opposing the entrance of other parties to the LDF is due to their fear. He also said that it is the KC(M) which should first take a decision regarding their entrance to the LDF..
