Join Armed forces and serve the nation: Chandrababu Naidu
Vijayawada: The first-ever Operational Naval Display attracted the citizens at the Punnami Ghat. Eastern Naval Command, which organised dress rehearsals for the last two days at Punnami Ghat, had displayed final show on Saturday. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with Eastern Naval Command Vice-Admiral General H.G.S Bist participated in the show and accepted the Guard of Honour at the the Naval retreat.
More than 300 expert sailors from Eastern Naval Command, Visa-khapatnam, stole the show with their aerobatic and naval display. A huge crowd gathered and enjoyed the stunts performed by expert sailors. Mr Chandrababu Naidu called upon the students to join the defence services and fight for the nation. Andhra Pradesh government had organised this show to create awareness among students about the role of Navy and to motivate them to join the armed forces, he said.
The Chief Minister said the government was trying to promote Amaravati as an international tourism centre and hence conducting events like aerobatic show, Navy show and others in a big way. Riverfront development is a big advantage for Amaravati and encouragement from local people is remarkable, said Mr Naidu. Aerobatic display by fighter jets, music show by a world famous band, five stalls displaying torpedoes, weapons, missiles and ships were the special attractions at the show.
